This lady is a tramp...

I was looking forward to catching up with people this weekend, hotel booked etc but in reality I am not well enough to cope with a 4 /5 hour drive ( taking 2 naps a day at present though not ill just tired / weary ). So my much anticipated and looked forward to weekend did not happen :-(

However, this I think was Fate Lady.......

When we should have been up north but in reality sat at dinner table eating chicken and potato cakes with a friend (Michelle - who rang up last minute for a catch up) a phone call from my Mum... I have fallen cannot stand up, on my hands and knees. My 80 year old Mum had fallen outside and crawled in to ring for help.

This was at half past 8, we drove over and took her straight to A & E - ankle broken. after three attempts at putting it right (the last one was correct under a big dose of morphine) so that they could operate today, Home at 01:30). Grateful that Michelle could stay in the house with Tash (Another tale with this for another time, tash was as usual tash)

Mum was operated on this morning and will be living with us for 6 weeks from tomorrow or the day after (non weight bearing) zimmer frame included !!

On a good note had a phone call from somebody close to our hearts and it was brilliant to hear them happy and to talk.

Stress free time ....... NOT ..... ho hum

Beautiful flowers -

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons  of self-raising flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 3 tablespoons chocolate chips or (optional)
  • A small splash of vanilla extract and your favourite tipple
  • 1 large coffee mug

Method

1. Add the dry ingredients to your largest mug and mix them well.

2. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.

3. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.

4. Add the chocolate chips (if you  are using), vanilla extract and a drop or two of your favourite tipple, then mix again.

5. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high).

6. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed!

7. Allow to cool and tip onto a plate

To serve

A totally dressed up version of this cake ready to serve to dinner guests, is shown at the top of this article. You could eat the whole thing yourself, but I would cut it in half as it serves two generous portions.

If you are feeling really naughty you could either serve it with thick cream or Baileys Cream. It’s also delicious with home made strawberry jam (check out our strawberry jam recipe in the links below).

And why is this chocolate cake so dangerous? Because now you are only 3 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night. Enjoy!

Blagged from another blog, thought it might be of interest

.........................

" As many of you (usually like myself) don't pay attention to every move they make, and I can tell 800 of you at once: You should know that Livejournal laid off almost half of their staff today, apparently including their engineers.

Here is a story about it.

It might be prudent to back up your journal.

This page offers some suggestions how to most effectively go about it.

If any of you have an further suggestions, please share with everyone in the comments."

Might not be a bad idea to do a back up just as a precaution
